Nursing Services
Our nurses help our patients to take their medications when they cannot do so on their own. We also do small nursing procedures at home. Through our services, a patient can avoid hospital trips for relatively small and simple medical needs.
Giving medicines to patients via injections, drips etc.
Our nurses visit patients to give them medicines as their doctor has instructed.
Family members may help patients with tablets and syrups. They usually cannot give injections. Instead of a visit to the hospital, our nurses can provide this service at home.
Some patients need a drip (also called infusion). Our nurses can set up a drip at home. They will monitor it to completion or as the doctor has instructed.
Bed baths, changing bed linen and patients’ clothing
Beyond giving medicines, our nurses do other things. We can give the patient a bath, change their clothes and bed linen. Some patients may need to have their sanitary pads or diapers changed. Others require a change of their colostomy bags.
Bed-ridden patients need to change their resting positions regularly. This is to avoid developing bed sores and infections.
Our nurses handle these needs regularly for several patients.
Surgical wounds, other wounds and sores
After undergoing a surgical procedure, some patients require the wound to be cleaned and dressed until it heals. Ordinarily this will require several trips from home to the hospital. However, we offer equally effective alternatives at home.
In consultation with your doctor, we can ease the burden of travel. Our nurses can visit you as often as your wound needs to be cleaned, treated and dressed. They can also provide updates to your doctor after each session.
Some wounds and sores come with illnesses such as diabetes. Caring for these can be more complicated than normal wounds. Our nurses are trained to handle these.
Tubes and Catheters
Some patients need urinary catheters. Our nurses are trained to fit these. They can also handle feeding tubes (known as Riles Tubes) for patients who need them.
Respiratory needs: oxygen, steam inhalation etc.
For those with breathing problems, our nurses use special equipment for oxygen. We can give steam inhalations to clear the sinuses and lungs.
Checking vital signs and symptoms
If your doctor requires it, our nurses can monitor your symptoms. We can check blood pressure (BP), heart rates (pulse) and do physical examinations. With our mobile equipment we can also take ECG readings and do many instant blood tests.
However, there is a limit to the number of things we can do for a patient at home. Some procedures can only be done in the hospital. For these, we accompany our patients to and from the hospital if they ask us to.
We maintain complete records of all that we do: medications, procedures, tests etc. These records are available to the doctor in charge of your treatment and also to anyone you authorize to have them.
